Get to know Richard

Richard has been working in the IT industry for over 40 years and a Business Analyst for the last 17. He brings a wealth of experience in business analysis and a personal passion for supporting people in their IT journey. A people person with a broad range of technical experience, Richard has a good understanding of the technical components of ICT solutions, and the unique needs of the business stakeholders and technical team members, to ensure quality project deliverables. His positive and friendly approach along with a pro-active attention to detail are appreciated by those he works with.

Richard produced and trained IT related courses as part of his roles at Otago and Canterbury Universities. He taught courses in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, and was the Universities advanced level trainer in FileMaker Pro, a popular database development platform available at the time. At Canterbury University, he provided in-house training in SharePoint (User and Administration) and PRINCE2 (project management methodology) to staff at all levels of the organisation. Participant feedback was always very positive, making Richard a valued member of the in-house training team.

He is a careful, patient and considerate trainer, always determined to make learning accessible and fun to all participant levels.

Of interest

When he is not working, Richard likes to spend time with his family of four adult children and two grandchildren. He enjoys exploring local cycle trails on his new e-bike and playing music in a local covers band. All too soon the garden calls for his attention again…
