Get to know James

James splits his time running a not-for-profit organization in Accra, Ghana, and training professionals in project management with Millpond (New Zealand), Unichrone (India) and Step Up Business School (Ghana). He also speaks in many leadership and entrepreneurship forums in Cameroon and Africa.

James has worked for 30 years in Europe and Africa mainly as an IT and project management professional in IT services, oil and gas, and not-for-profit organizations, leading and managing diverse teams. From 2009 and 2018, James was IT manager for Pecten Cameroon (a Shell subsidiary) and Addax Petroleum Cameroon.

In 2006, James was a member of a small group that started a courageous journey in embedding PMI standards, processes, and initiatives in Cameroon. Along this journey, he became the 3rd Cameroonian to become a PMP holder in February 2008. He led the project that saw the first PMI examination in Cameroon in September 2008, that led to 25 people obtaining the CAPM and 10 obtaining the PMP. In 2015, the PMI Cameroon Chapter was officially established. James had been a strong advocate of PMI standards in Cameroon, authoring many articles published in PMI Network.
